Who Needs the Win At TPC the Most?

It’s no secret that a win at TPC Sawgrass can gain golfers some attention. A win at the Players means they took on one of the toughest courses and bested the best golfers in the world. The “W” hoists their public image and for some golfers, like Sergio Garcia or last years winner, Henrik Stenson, it is the highlight of their careers.

So who would the title benefit more?

While Phil Mickelson could use the points to help him climb to first, and Tiger needs a win to help repair his career and keep his reign, they have both already been victorious at TPC . Beyond points, it wont really help push their career to a new level, and this caveman can think of a few others who could use the win more:

• Rory McIlroy: If he’s looking to repeat and maybe best Tiger’s Career, this would send him screaming after his blow-out at the Quail Hollow
• Ian Poulter: The win would boost his reputation, and potentially his clothing line!
• Jim Furyk: While he already has a major under his belt, a win on his home field would definitely boost his confidence and headlines.
