ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP @ SHERWOOD

Hey Rock Heads, normally we’d be greeting you in Japan, but due to Covid we’re in sunny California for this year’s ZOZO Championship! The event takes place Oct 22 – 25 with a Purse of $ 8,000,000. Tiger Woods won last year’s Zozo Championship in Japan for his 82nd Tour title to tie Sam Snead for the all-time victory mark. Will this week see him pass Sam? On the other side of the draw Rory McIlroy will be grouped with Webb Simpson and Phil Mickelson, who won his second consecutive event on the PGA Tour Champions last week.

ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP: The Course

Sherwood CC has a rich history of hosting PGA Tour events such as the Shark Shootout, hosted by Greg Norman, as well as the World Challenge, hosted by Tiger Woods.  Before the course, Sherwood was also the location for several television shows and movies, most notably, the 1923 version of Robin Hood, starring Douglas Fairbanks, and the 1938 version, The Adventures of Robin Hood, starring Errol Flynn.
