Pebble Beach Course Almost Outshines The Golfers At This Year’s US Open

One of the world’s greatest golf courses gets the PGA Tour experience this week as Pebble Beach hosts the 2010 US Open! Can anyone come up with a single bad thing to say about this setup? This Caveman sure can’t! I mean, look at this beautiful course:

#7 at Pebble Beach

That’s because it really is a “cream of the crop” roster this year, including: reigning champion Lucas Glover; last week’s winner at the St. Jude Classic, Lee Westwood; Phil Mickelson, still in striking distance of that world #1 ranking, especially if Tiger Woods keeps struggling; young guns Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler as well as old favorites like Tom Watson… it just goes on and on!

Now put that “who’s who” list on one of the most revered and respected public tracks in the world and you’ve got the recipe for maybe the most exciting tourneys of 2010!

Tiger won the last US Open held here in 2000, but something tells me the smart money is on just about anybody else. Tom Watson won it all in ’82 – here’s hoping he can pull together another miracle run like he did at the British Open! Who do you think will win it all at Pebble Beach?

I just have this feeling that it’s Lee’s tournament to lose. My dark horse? Dustin Johnson or Zach Johnson, or Johnson & Johnson!
