Gerade bei den ersten Schwüngen des Tages hat man häufig eine Tendenz, den Oberkörper noch nicht so weit zu drehen, wie es für einen wirklich guten Golfschwung notwendig ist. Für den perfekten Golfschwung mit dem Driver braucht es nicht unbedingt mehr Kraft. Beim Abschlag liegt der Ball besonders günstig auf dem Tee liegend, schön hoch über der Grasnarbe, ohne störende Grashalme oder Bodenunebenheiten. Dennoch gilt der Golfschwung mit dem Driver als einer der schwierigsten überhaupt.
Zwei Putts pro Loch sind das Ziel: ein Annäherungs-Putt und ein abschließender. Jeder weitere Versuch ist ärgerlich.
Da „richtig Putten“ beim Golf nicht nur eine Frage der Technik ist, sondern auch der Psyche, ist es nicht ganz leicht, deutliche Trainingsfortschritte zu erzielen.
