Who To Watch:
Tiger Woods – He’s spent his time off since winning the Farmers Insurance Open practicing for this event(other than taking time to play with the pres). He’s won this event three times and has the best match-play record out of the field.
Rory McIlroy – We also haven’t seen Rory in a while. This will be just his third competitive round this year. The last time we saw him at the Abu Dhabi Championship, he missed the cut during the debut of his new Nike gear. Since then, he’s spent his time vacationing and working with his swing instructor, Michael Bannon. Rory has a pretty good record here. He was runner-up last year, advanced to the second round in 2010 and 2011 and made the quarterfinals in his U.S. pro debut in 2009.
Charl Schwartzel – He’s been on a roll. In his past seven events worldwide, he’s finished in the top five every time. Including a T3 at the Northern Trust. Schwartzel’s the besty ball-striker in the world right now and has a decent record at Dove Mountain: Reached the second round in 2012, 2011 and 2009, and the third round in 2010.
