My Very First Caveman Post!

Hey there Rock Heads! Scratch here moving out of the Caveman age and into the Bloggin’ age! I was finally able to sneak into the boss man’s office when he wasn’t looking and start my very own Caveman Blog! But I won’t be able to get in there whenever I need to so I’m gonna need your help. So here we go!

I’ve always found it interesting how some people will love a certain club and some will absolutely hate it! So today I’m throwing a question out to all my Rock Heads. What is your favorite brand when you’re looking for new golf clubs and why? Help out your fellow Rock Heads who may be struggling with their current gear. What golf equipment do you have in your bag and why does it work for you?

Driver – Taylor Made Burner
Fairway – Adams Insight
Hybrids – Adams A2 Hybrid Irons
Irons – Callaway Big Bertha
Wedges – Cleveland CG11
Putter – Odyssey SRT Two Ball
Balls – Srixon Soft Feel

Oops, here comes the boss. Gotta go!

Figured it out huh! How long it take you to type it? I like to hit the Taylor Burner and have gotten mine right here because it is the best price I can find. Glad I found the site when I did, makes it easier to get out and play more often.

I picked up the Taylor Made Burner Draw driver from Rock Bottom last month. I couldn’t be happier with it….GOODBYE SLICE! Next on the list is a new set of irons, anyone have any suggestions? I am currently playing a knockoff set my uncle gave me, think it’s time to upgrade.

To be honest, brand doesn’t matter to me as much as cost. As long as it’s a brand I’ve heard of, if it’s cheap enough I’m probably willing to give it a try. That said, I think Adams clubs (for the most part) have a really great look to them.

My favorite brand when looking for new golf clubs is definitely Callaway. There clubs have always helped me with my game. Callaway clubs are well made and I play an awesome game when I have a Callaway driver in my hand. What’s better is that you can’t beat Rock Bottom Golf’s Callaway golf gear prices! *Current Driver in my bag* – Callaway Ladies X-Series 460 Driver

If you aren’t carrying at least two hybrids in your bag, you’re doing something wrong! I hit them longer & straighter than I ever hit my long irons, and the best part, can do it from almost any lie. The Adams hybrids A3 hybrids are the best out there, as Scratch would say, a NO BRAINER!!

Hey Bob I recently got the Ben Hogan Edge CFT irons and my slice has gotten less drastic, but I am a lefty and don’t know if that makes a difference? Might be worth a try at the low list price here! Good luck.

The brands you see here will all perform for you, so it’s kinda like trying on a pair of jeans or shoes or slippers…
that one special club will have the certain feel / look that puts confidence in your hands.

For ME, a TaylorMade or Nike driver just seems to have the right look / feel and the shaft-thru-head style of the Callaway drivers do nothing for me…
for YOU, it might be the other way around.

This is the best place to experiment, since you can find the best deals and prices that make trying something out possible.

Always looking for the best deals on clubs, so about 1/2 my bag come from Rockbottom. I don’t always have the latest and greatest equipment, but my clubs are quality and they perform. For me, part of the challenge of the game of golf is to be able to play without breaking the bank. So far – so good.

Keep the blogs coming Scratch, I’m enjoying it.

FedEx Cup – I don’t understand why it has to be so hard. The first tournament invites the top 150 money winners to that point and 4 major winners. The top ten from that tournament are then slotted for the final match for the cup. The next tournament the same – 150 top money winners to that point and the 4 major winners. The top ten from that tournament are then slotted for the final match. The third tournament the same so that for the final match, you have a possible 40 and an unprobable minimum of 10 players if the same ten came in 1-10 in all three of the tournaments. You could play all three of the first or just up to the point you were slotted but the final tournament for the cup would be all equal. Winner takes the cup and the big money prize an there are 9 more money winners. The rest of the field gets a “thank you”.

Driver – Nike Sumo 8.5 (Thanks Scratch!)
    3-Wood – Ping g10 15.5 Draw
    Hybrid – Ping g10 24 degree
    Irons 5-PW – Ping i10
    Wedges – Cleveland C14 56 and 60 degree
Putter – Odyssey White Hot Sabertooth
Balls – Callaway Tour ix (Best price on these at the Cave!)

I’m pretty well set on what I’m playing. I only carry 12 clubs right now, so I’m still debating what to carry for the other two. My hybrid is by far my favorite club and I’m contemplating carrying another one. I’m open for suggestions for the last club. As for brands of clubs, I think it’s about feel. I tried a Taylormade R7 Draw and a Ping G5 Driver before settling on the Sumo Driver. You can’t beat the price for trial and error with Rockbottom. I’m constantly telling the people I play with about the deals available from Scratch!
