2017 FedEx Cup: The Northern Trust Open

1. The Northern Trust Tournament

Known as The Barclays for the past 12 years, this weekend’s tournament is now known as The Northern Trust Open and is the first of just four tournaments left before the 2017 golf season ends.

This tournament will take place at Glen Oaks Club, which was founded almost 100 years ago. It’ll be the first time this course has hosted this tournament. Originally, the club was built on a piece of property that was bought from William K. Vanderbilt’s estate! But eventually, the club moved to Old Westbury, NY. That course opened in 1971 and underwent a renovation that lasted from 2011 – 2014.

During this first FedEx Cup tournament, the players will be going back and forth between the club’s 3 9-hole courses. They will start on the White course, playing holes 1-3, then they’ll go to the Red Course where they’ll play 4 & 5, next they’ll go back to the White Course to play holes 6-9, and finally, they’ll play their last 9 holes on the Blue Course.
