The 2011 Masters Tournament begins Thursday, April 7th. There are talks already of supposed rivalry between Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Phil may have won the Masters last year and Tiger may have won 4 titles, Mickelson surely hasn’t done anything of note since, and Tiger hasn’t won a tournament since 2009.
While I would like to see Tiger Woods have a giant come back at the Masters, I am not sure I see it as entirely plausible, and personally I think Mickelson is straight out of contention. This caveman, however, would be the first one to eat crow if either of these golfers rocks Augusta.
There are a few other golfers who have more promise in my opinion. For starters, Martin Kaymer Is the now top ranked player in the world followed by Lee Westwood and Luke Donald. Up & comers Rory McIlroy and his “US Counterpart” Ricky Fowler have also been playing really well.
My money is on Graeme McDowell who had 4 wins last year, incuding the U.S Open and the Chevron World Challenge. He was cut, however, from last years Masters, but he has made great strides in his game since then.
What do you think Rock Heads? Who is going to win this years Masters?
