US Open Viewing Guide

So maybe we won’t get another instant classic like last year, but all eyes are still on the Open this weekend. There’s just something special about watching the pros play a public course. And with the track designed to make ’em earn every par, there’s the added fun of seeing the pros struggle like the rest of us!

Here’s where you can catch this year’s US Open on TV (as published on USOpen.com):

June 18/Thursday
10:00 A.M.-3:00 p.m.
First Round – Part I
ESPN
3:00-5:00 p.m.
First Round
NBC
5:00-7:00 p.m.
First Round – Part II
ESPN
June 19/Friday
10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Second Round – Part I
ESPN
3:00-5:00 p.m.
Second Round
NBC
5:00-7:00 p.m.
Second Round – Part II
ESPN
June 20/Saturday
2:00-8:00 p.m.
Third Round
NBC
June 21/Sunday
1:30-7:30 p.m Fourth Round NBC

If you can’t find a TV, don’t worry! There’s a ton of resources online. You can always watch live video online or keep up with the virtual scorecard. I might just keep one eye on the TV and the other on this hole-by-hole examination of the course.

So I gotta ask…Do you normally watch much golf on TV? Maybe you only tune in for the big-time tourneys, or NEVER watch at all? (Can’t say I’d blame you.) How about the Golf Channel – any “must see” shows the rest of the Rock Heads should be checkin’ out, or could you not care less? Let us know in the comment section below!

Thursdays and Fridays I don’t get to watch much, unless it’s a Major, and then I have to be sneaky about it at work.

The weekend are different, I love watching Saturdays when the kids permit me to, but now my 6 year old Daughter is interested, which affords me more time.

Sunday afternoon’s are daddy’s tv golf time!

John, that’s a great way to get your PGA fix and, more importantly, spend some quality time with your daughter! How did you get her interested?
