In the end, the Americans couldn’t stop the European powerhouse. On Sunday, Jamie Donaldson holed out a putt on No. 15 to beat Keegan Bradley 4-and-3 and bring Europe its third straight Ryder Cup victory. Other than newcomers, Jordan Speith and Patrick Reed, the American team was frankly disappointing. We here at the Cave still had a great time this weekend watching the Ryder Cup. Here’s Scratch’s favorite videos from the tournament!

 

Rory and Sergio’s Comeback During The Day 1 Foursomes

Looking back, this should have been an indication of how the Europeans were going to dominate. Rory McIlroy holed a 45 foot putt to keep the match alive and then Sergio hits a wonder shot out of the rough on the 18th.

 

 

Patrick Reed Shushes The Crowd

After a hostile Europe fan shouted “Did you practice your putting, Patrick?”, Reed shut him up by sinking his straight birdie to halve the hole, then turned to the pro-European crowd and gave the “shush” sign. This caused Jack Nicklaus to ask on Sky Sports, “What in the world is he doing? He’s going to incite a riot.” Reed and his I-don’t-give-a-f*** attitude were two bright spots in a lackluster American team.

Donaldson was the hero in his first Ryder Cup appearance by clinching the cup for Europe. Jamie Donaldson: The 38-year-old capped his first Ryder Cup appearance by clinching the cup for Europe. Donaldson was 4-up on Keegan Bradley on No. 15, needing only to halve the hole to secure at least the half point Europe needed to get to 14, and he did so by sticking his approach shot from 146 yards to a foot. Bradley could do nothing but concede the match, giving Donaldson and the Europeans the win.

 

The Hilarious And Drunk Press Conference By The European Team

The winners started their drinking on the course and continued during their press conference and on into the night. Check out this video of Lee Westwood trying to not-so-subtly open a bottle of champagne.

Based on this interview the morning after, Donaldson and the rest of the European team had a great timing celebrating their win.
