Can US Open Mr Runner-Up Finally Get The Title?

The US Open began today at the Congressional Country Club, but one big name is not going to appear on the leader board. The first time since 1994, Tiger Woods (blaming a bum knee and hurt Achilles’ tendon) will not be participating.

Maybe tiger won’t break Jack Nicklaus’ record for most major championship victories, and that pursuit is definitely on hold for now, but Nicklaus has another record that may be closer to be being broken after this US Open. Nicklaus holds the record for most 2nd place finishes in the same Major championship with 7 at the British Open. South paw, Phil Mickelson, has finished or tied for second 5 times at the US open, giving him the deserved title of “Mr. Runner-Up.”

With Tiger out of the way, South Paw, Phil Mickelson, may have the chance to grab his first US Open title. I am rooting for him! If not,” Mr Runner- Up” at the US Open could very well be one step closer to beating Nicklaus’s record. Mickelson has finished second a record 5 times at the tournament.

So What do you think Rock Heads? Can Phil get the title? Or will be he runner up for the 6th time?

If Figjam was as good as he thinks he is he would have won every event he played in. I hope he never wins another tournament.
